Bread
Until recently I have not listed bread products. My daughter simply refused to eat store bought Gluten Free Bread after I had made her homemade bread. That all changed a few weeks ago when she called me excitedly from school to tell me they had good gluten free bread and the cafeteria lady had promised to sell it to her if you couldn't buy it at the grocery store! My daughter says she can not tell the difference between the two kinds of bread. They are sold in the health mart freezer dept at Hy Vee.

If you are in Omaha Rotella has an outlet store at 108th and Harrison. They only take cash but you can buy unlabeled gluten free bread that goes to restaurants for a dollar a loaf or the labeled bread, gluten free hamburger buns and hot dog buns for a huge discount.

Milk
I currently am buying Hy Vee Original Almond Milk my daughter likes it best. Before that I bought vanilla almond milk and soy milk and she would mix 2 parts soy to 1 part almond. I watch for shelf staple coconut milk to be on sale I found I struggled to use it quickly enough to use fresh. The shelf stable in the health food area though is much cheaper than canned coconut milk for recipes. I also have found that Natural Grocery seems to always have one of their varieties of shelf staple milks on sale for a $1.99 a quart. I have bought these as a back up or to take when visiting family. Silk periodically has coupons in the Sunday paper and on their website.

Baking Supplies
Natural Grocers 212 N 48th Lincoln, NE has pre packaged 2 lb bags of lots of flour types in their bulk refrigerator case. This allows you to buy at bulk prices without the risk of cross contamination between the bins. Two warnings, first they tend to run out so don't wait till your totally out and second they don't open until 9:00 AM. I have a food saver so I have a small container in my cupboard that holds several cups that I fill. Then I reseal the bag and stick it in my freezer. Also check out Natural Grocers bags of bulk spices they are really cheap especially for things like cumin and curry.

Pasta
Whole Foods in Omaha frequently runs there Gluten Free Pasta on sale for $2.00 a box. I always take time to run in when I'm in Omaha to see if it is on sale. The last time I was there the nice cashier told me that they have a 10 percent case discount so anything you buy by the case is 10 percent cheaper and this applies to sale prices as well. I'm looking forward to having Whole Foods in Lincoln.
